<p>Devices (10) are used for measuring the quantity of fluid flowing through a tube and for measuring the fuel consumption per distance covered by a vehicle are designed for accurate results whilst being cheap to produce. A chamber placed in series with the tube contains a fluid on/off switch locked in either condition in response to a signal. Variable volume chambers for storing fluid up to a maximum volume are placed upstream and downstream of the switch chamber, and their volumes varies according to switch position. The switch is operated when either chamber reaches maximum volume.</p> |
