The fitting for the car licence plate uses two hard metal rivets or press studs which grip the plate to the bumper strip, or backing plate. The head of the fitting is covered by the official stamp plate. The fitting can only be removed by damaging the official seal or stamp and by tearing a larger hole in the licence plate.
