Glass fibres impregnated with vinylpyridine terpolymer compsn. - contg. butadiene homopolymer latex, wax emulsion and resorcinol-formaldehyde resin and used in tyre cords

Glass fibres are impregnated with a polymer residue formed by removing water from a mixt. of vinylpyridine-butadiene-styrene terpolymer and butadiene homopolymer latex, wax emulsion and a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. The butadiene homopolymer is present in an amt. of 30-80 wt.%. Pref. the residue contains 10-60 wt.% vinylpyridine ter polymer, 30-80 wt.% polybutadiene latex, 4-6 wt.% wax emulsion and 3-4 wt.% of the resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. Pref. vinylpyridine terpolymer comprises 70 wt. % butadiene, 15 wt.% styrene and 15 wt.% vinyl pyridine.
