Sorting of documents into mailbags - uses bag held open by elastic blade having slotted ends which engage edges of bag mouth

Sorting of documents into mail bags for despatch to different destinations is facilitated by insertion of an elastic member in the form of a blade into the opening of each bag. At each of its ends and on one of its edges the blade has a slot extending over a fraction of the width of the blade. On the opposite edge of the blade at each end there is thus an extension beyond the edges of the opening when the blade is in position and the slots engage the edges of the opening in the bag. The blade may be moulded in plastic material.
