PURPOSE:To produce a video disc by a single evaporation step by evaporating metal in a preset direction while turning a disc formed with roughnesses. CONSTITUTION:A disc 3 of plastics, which has its surface formed with recesses of multiple pits 2, is reproduced from an original. The disc 3 is then placed on a rotary disc 12 in a vacuum-evaporating device, and the rotary disc 12 is turned about its shaft 13 while being controlled to a desired r.p.m. The disc 3 thus turned is evaporated with metal 11 in a direction of A at a desired angle of inclination with respect to the rough surfaces of the disc 3 and at a right angle with respect to the longitudinal direction of the pits 2. By the inclined evaporation, the process is carried out about the lands of the disc 3 while inhibiting the recessed from being evaporated. Thus, it is possible to omit the removing process of the metal which is evaporated upon the recesses of the disc 3. |
