The adjustment mechanism for the roller of a calendar unit, where a web is subjected to pressure by passing between them, has guides on >=1 side of the roller bearings so that the rollers can move on only one arc round each other. The radius of this arc is adjustable. The construction simplifies the adjustment to the pressures applied by the calendar rollers.
