A reagent for carrying out immunological analyses of liquid samples, which adsorbs one or more components from the liquid and in which each particle consists of a polymeric matrix in which are embedded both magnetically attractable particles and a particulate adsorbent is prepared by uniformly distributing the magnetically attractable material and the particulate adsorbent in the polymeric matrix, curing the matrix and milling the resulting solid to the desired particle size.
