<p>Loading dock seals for use with loading dock shelters of the type having a supporting frame protecting outwardly away from the wall of a warehouse, and side curtains and head curtains mounted on and supported by the side of the frame remote from the warehouse in position to engage the sides and top of a truck backed into operative position in the frame, the truck being of the type having a body, which includes oppositely disposed upstanding side walls having rear edge portions, and door panels hingedly mounted on the rear edge portions and swingable thereon between a closed position wherein the door panels extend laterally across the rear of the truck body, and an open position wherein the door panels are disposed outwardly of respective ones of the truck side walls in substantially parallel relation thereto. Each seal consists of an elongated body portion having a closed longitudinal edge portion and an opposite open longitudinal edge portion. The open edge portion is normally biased toward a closed position, but is movable laterally onto one of the door panels and the one of the side walls adjacent thereto when the aforementioned one of the door panels is disposed in its open position, and means are provided to releasably holding the open portion in enveloping relation to the rear function of the one door panel and the one side panel adjacent thereto when the one door panel is disposed in open position.</p> |
