1392633 Securing railway rails SCHWIHAG GES Fur EISENBANNOBERBAU mbH 27 Oct 1972 [27 Oct 1971] 49570/72 Heading E1G In a railway switch wherein a base plate 3 supports a fixed rail 1 alongside an overhanging bearing member 8 on which the movable switch point (not shown) slides, the rail 1 is secured on one side by a conventional resilient fastening such as 5-6-7 and on the other side by a U-shaped spring clip 17 reacting against the flat or curved roof of a recess 10 in the underside of the member 8 and having its outer ends forced up into notches 14. The clip 17 is inserted by driving it up a wedge 21 and is located by a central rib 25. The member 8 is weldedto the plate 3. Side openings 24 may be provided for the insertion of a support under the legs of the clip. The divergent legs of the U clip 17 may be horizontally cranked as shown, or straight (Fig. 5, not shown), or may, Fig. 4 (not shown) have vertical kinks engaging a flat-roofed recess (10). |
