The machine unstacks vessels, particularly of foam material, having flanged mouths and nested inside each other. It comprises one or more rotary shafts (1) round each of which is fitted a spiral auger (3), whose pitch increases progressively in the unstacking direction (2). The pitch (10) of the first turn of the auger can be equal to or greater than the interval between the vessel flanges (5, 5'), and that (12) of the last one at least equal to vessel height (13). The auger can be in strip form, its width (6) being greater than that of the vessel flange (9).
