EDM correction system for curved contours - uses vector monitoring for trailing electrode wire to maintain straight cut

The correction system for electro-discharge or electrochemical machining prevens cutting errors caused by trailing of the tensioned electrode wire. The corrector ensures that curved contours are cut to the specified geometry. Rotation of a vector associated with the curved contour of the work is monitored. If vector rotation exceeds a certain angle then the stretched wire electrode is pulled back in the already cut contour until the forces causing trailing vanish. The wire becomes straight and it is moved forward into cutting position and erosion resumed.
