Buffer stopping machined parts - has pneumatic cylinder actuated via proximity switch to match speed of part and has oil cylinder to stop it

The buffer is intended for braking and stopping the movement of machined piece parts and comprises a buffer plate(1) in the path of the parts and a hydraulic brake system. The plate is coupled to a pneumatic cylinder(2) connected to a compressed air line via a 5/2-way valve(8) which is operated by proximity switch in the path. The cylinder(2) then moves the plate at a speed just below that of the approaching part. The plate is further coupled to a hydraulic brake cylinder(3) which subsequently reduces the speed of the part to zero.
