<p>Fungicidal compsn. contains a quat. pyrridinium salt of formula (I). In (I) R, R1 and R2 are each H, 1-5C alkyl, 2-5C haloalkyl or alkoxyalkyl, halo, NO2 or CN. A is -(CHR3)n-n is 1-3. R3 is H, 1-3C alkyl, CN or 2-6C alkoxycarbonyl. X is Cl, Br or I. Specifically 1-cyanomethylpyridinium chloride (Ia) is used as solns., suspensions or powders contg. 5-80% active ingredient. Used esp. for treating or preventing infections caused by Botrytis cinerea; Plasmopara viticola and Sphaerotheca fuliginea. (I) have already been proposed as non-selective herbicides, antistatic agents and toxigens, and (Ia) has been used in photography.</p> |
