<p>In the mfr. of tufted carpetings, using a hand tool, the basic ground fabric is stretched on a frame before the tufting loops are inserted. After the loops have been placed, the reverse side of the fabric is coated with a rubbery hardening mass such as latex. The process simplifies the prodn. of tufteds, for working by unskilled people, so that it can be done as a hobby.</p> |
