The fibre cutter is for cutting or trimming grass etc. It has a rotating plate which has a series of peripheral holes for fixing a fibre which is on the plate. One end section of the fibre emerges from one of the holes as the cut length. Following fibre sections which lie between holes are freed as cut lengths on cutting off the previous end section during operation. A fibre section (24) which lies between two holes (18) can be introduced radially into one hole. There is a device (22) which prevents radial outlet of the fibre section from the hole while the plate is turning.
