If a roadway is provided with a new surfacing, the fitted manhole frames have to be lifted. In previous constructions this means cutting out the mortar grouting and removing the surfacing around the frame. A manhole frame (1) which is connected to the concrete frame (5) of the manhole in a vertically adjustable manner removes these disadvantages. Adjusting screws (11) or fastening screws (7) which can be screwed in preferably in the manhole-frame edge projecting to the inside and are provided with a collar attached under the edge are used for the vertically adjustment. A vertical adjustment can also be effected by means of Z-profile-shaped angle irons (20) with a slotted hole (21). <IMAGE>
