A device for treating gaseous material, comprising a housing, a chemical treating substance arranged in layers in said housing for reacting with a constituent of said material, screens in said housing alternating with said layers, and a conduit for conducting said material extending through said layers and having a peripheral wall which, within said substance, is formed with perforations. Such a device finds application for gas purification in closed-circuit breathing apparatus. |
