<p>Plastics pallet is composed of the top portion and (pref.) 3 identical bottom portions, all made of large-cellular, bulky, plastics pref. a hard foam, and coated with mechanically strong, hard, plastics, adapted to bear relatively heavy loads. In order to further increase mechanical strength, the structure is reinforced by embedded laminae, e.g. matting, or reinforcing filler in form of chips. At certain points esp. subjected to stresses, reinforcing strands pref. of glass fibre are embedded in top and bottom portions. The top of the pallet has a smooth surface devoid of apertures. Alternatively, it is structurised by crisscrossing grooves. Also, it may have a rim around its edges.</p> |
