<p>Hard foams contg. filling materials are produced in a process in which the separate components for the foam are mixed and ejected on to a supporting surface. The filling materials are applied separately and dry, to the reactive mass from the mixer. In the case of a plant for blocks or rigid foam such as of polyurethane and polyisocyanurane, the filling materials are applied, before and/or simultaneously with, and/or after the application of the reactive mixture. Additives may be included in the mixt. to simulate flow, prevent ignition, etc. Method overcomes the difficulties that fillings of higher specific gravity tend to fall out of the mixture to the bottom in the liquid and prevent uniformity, whilst causing clogging of pumps and lines. The foams obtd. have an increased density and improved mechanical characteristics.</p> |
