Crush reinforcing for car door - uses double hollow profile rails in recess between inner skin and window shaft

The inside skin of the door is fitted with an open profile metal strip (5), open towards the door skin and forming a recess in the door via a cutout in the skin. Additional open profile rails (9) are welded into the recess for reinforcement and covered with armrests (4). The reinforcement does not intrude on the line of action of the window gear and does not add greatly to the weight of the door. The recess can be further improved by injecting a foam filling.
