An internally retro-reflective monolithic sealable transparent article having a smooth front surface and a plurality of cube-corner retro-reflecting units and intervening transparent septa embossed on the rear surface. The septa are disposed to divide the rear surface into a plurality of polygonal sealable cells each containing at least three of said cube-corner units and each having an area not greater than about one square inch. The septa permit transmission of light falling on the front face in areas corresponding thereto to improve the daytime appearance of the article, and they occupy an area compared to the area of said cube-corner units sufficiently small such that the article is highly visible at night.
