The equipment seals the gap between the edge of the opening in a storage tank, and a cover. The latter is adjustable in the opening parallel to the edge to suit the alterations in the level of the contents. It comprises a sealing flap (3) secured at both ends to one of the components (1) movable in relation to the other, and held in the shape of a loop by leaf springs (4a, 4b) which is encloses. The apex of the flap furthest from the ends at which it is secured is held against the other component to form a seal. The flap ends can be secured to the cover (1), while it acts against the tank wall forming one side of the intervening annular gap.
