The printing press has one or more printing cylinders with detachable sleeves and running in bearings on the lengthwise members. One of the bearings (7) can be removed from its respective lengthwise member (3) and from the cylinder (1) to allow changing of the sleeve (2) to be carried out from this end. A system is provided to balance the cylinder while this operation is taking place and is situated beyond the other lengthwise member. The first bearing can be accommodated in a plummer block removable from the lengthwise member, there being a stop (30) detachably secured to the cylinder trunnion (5) so as to determine the correct axial position of the trunnion tn relation to the lengthwise member.
