A process for moulding parts, more especially sealing rings where the part comprises one and usually two elements of different mouldable material 7,8 e.g. elastomers. bonded onto a frame e.g. a metallic frame. In order to ensure complete separation of the material of the two (or more) moulded elements, prior to the moulding operation the frame 1 is deformed to provide a bead 2 which bead 2 when the frame 1 is placed in the mould 3-6 together with the mould defines a respective cavity for each of said mouldable materials. Advantageously, it is arranged that when the mould is closed said respective mould part flattens the bead 2 on the frame so that, after moulding, the frame 1 resumes its pre-deformation shape. The bead 2 may have a round, triangular, square or rectangular cross-section. The elastomers may be silicones, acrylonitrile, acrylic or a fluorine elastomer. <IMAGE> |
