<p>A window support is driven by a U-shaped rack which is pivoted on the support near its base. The rack has a groove in one face which is engaged by a fixed pivot (4). The line joining the centre of pivot to that of the pinion (9) is pref. perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the support. The groove which receives the fixed pivot pref. has its lower end formed as a stop, the lower section of the U-being semicircular. The pivot pin (24) may be mounted at the centre of the semicircle. The mechanism may be used to raise and lower a vehicle window, and provides a compact assembly.</p> |
