<p>A reinforced sintered product, for example of metal, refractory metal, porcelain, stoneware, or glass is prepd. by adding to the base material or mixt. of materials, which may be in the form of powder or paste, or in liquid condition, a proportion of needle-like reinforcing substances, which have a size defined by a ratio of dia. to length at least 1:2, but are not limited with regard to their geometric form or condition. Pref. reinforcing needles are oriented or conc. by using vibration, pressure and/or magnetic forces in the case where the needles are composed of a ferromagnetic substance. The needle-like reinforcing material is pref. prepd. from wire. Used to mfr. vases, ashtrays, magnets, gearwheels, bearing bushes and cutting tools.</p> |
