The mounting secures the lining to the calliper of a disc brake, only one of the linings being actuated by the operating mechanism and sliding in the calliper, the latter being particularly of the floating type. A holding member on the lining plate engages in a recess in the wall of the calliper shaft when the lining is fitted, and works with a member secured to the calliper. The holding member on the lining plate (4) is a metal stirrup (5) spot-welded into place, with openings (8) in the sides in which a holder pin (10) accommodated in a drilling (9) in line with them in the calliper fits.
