The versatile single or double bed system comprises a basic rectangular bed (A) which when combined with an identical bed (B) forms a double bed whilst eight further arc sections (a-h) can be fitted round to form a circular bed. These extra sections can be attached by upright tubes at suitable connecting points. By fitting in different numbers of sections different designs can be achieved. The connecting tubes preferably have cover plates and can contain different electric installations for telephone, radio etc.
