The canopy comprises an arcuate beam 27 carrying abutment pads 28, 32. Guide means, e.g. plates 56, are mounted on the inner face of the beam 27 for contact by means 58 on the cutter-carrying boom of the machine for limiting the movement of the cutter within a pre-selected roadway profile. A vertically pivotable roof support erector 48 is mounted on the machine by arms 50 that serve as slideways for the transfer of roof support sections forwards from the rear of the machine.</p> |
