<p>1532577 Change-speed gearing CHRYSLER CORP 21 Feb 1977 [11 Aug 1976] 07126/77 Heading F2D [Also in Division B7] A transmission drivingly connecting the transverse engine of a vehicle to a pair of wheels of the vehicle comprises a hydrokinetic torque converter 8, 10, 12 driven by the crankshaft 1 of the engine, an automatic change-speed mechanism having an input shaft 15 driven by the torque converter, a transfer shaft 131 driven through gears 45, 129 by the output shaft 39 of the change-speed mechanism, and a differential coupled through shafts A to the pair of vehicle wheels and driven through gears 149, 151 by the transfer shaft 131. The automatic change-speed mechanism pro. vides three forward speeds and a reverse, and comprises planetary gear trains 35, 37, clutches C1, C2, and brakes B1, B2. The change-speed mechanism is controlled by a system including a governor 137 mounted on the transfer shaft 131.</p> |
