1532481 Heat pumps; heating and cooling buildings M R BURGER E GAGEL R KALMOVICZ & A PRECHTL 28 Jan 1976 [25 Sept 1975 11 Dec 1975] 03323/76 Headings F4H F4U and F4V A heat pump system for transferring heat between two fluid currents comprises an evaporator 1, a compressor 2, a condenser 3, a throttle valve 4 and a further heat exchanger located between the condenser and the throttle valve, the further heat exchanger being located upstream of the evaporator in one fluid current and the condenser being located in the other fluid current. As shown in Fig. 1, the evaporator 1 and the condenser 2 are disposed in heat exchangers 10, 11, air 23 from outside a building being drawn over the further heat exchanger (not shown) and the evaporator by a fan 20 and air 22 from inside the building being drawn over the condenser by a fan 21 and returned to the building interior through a distributor box 30. For cooling the inside air, the distributor box is positioned over the heat exchanger 10, Fig. 2 (not shown). In a second embodiment, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown) and Fig. 14, the heat pump transfers heat between liquid circuits containing brine, one circuit including an outdoor heat exchanger and the other including radiators. A switching valve is provided to bring the circuits into heat exchange with the evaporator 41 or the condenser 43, and the liquid flow upstream and downstream of the evaporator passes through heat exchangers 207, 207<SP>1</SP> located between the condenser 43 and the throttle valve 44. |
