For manufacturing this hollow-profile metal bar, an extremely effective measure has proved to be the application of a number of individual foil strips made of thin band material (8) in those places of a profiled bar (1) which do not hinder the profiling, in other words the leaving out of thin band material (8) in the regions of the rebates (3, 4 and 5). It is most simple, if the two inner main surfaces (6, 7) of the profiled bar (1) are provided with foil strips or thin band material (8) as these do not hinder the profiling operation. In this manner, a sound-deadened hollow-profile metal bar is produced, which basically does not deviate from previous hollow-profile metal bars in form and which therefore has significantly smaller internal bending radii than appeared possible to manufacture previously. <IMAGE>
