Two-storey precast concrete garage - has lower storey recessed in ground with entire structure raised hydraulically for vehicle access

Hydraulic cylinders raise and lower the entire structure, to bring either floor level with the ground for parking or removal of a vehicle. The roof, side walls (12, 13) and lower floor of the garage are formed in one piece, of steel-reinforced concrete. A separate reinforced concrete slab (9) resting on brackets (18, 19) forms the upper floor. The excavated chamber is lined with glass-fibre reinforced concrete. Hydraulic cylinders (20, 21) comprise the raising and lowering mechanism. The design saves space, whilst maintaining access to both floors at all times, and requires no special driving skill in use.
