Fork lift truck mast assembly - has open construction fixed and travelling frames with chain drive and hydraulic cylinder actuators

The open lifting structure is used in forklift trucks. The fixed and travelling masts are designed as open frames. These masts are provided with chain or cylinder and piston actuators. The hydraulic actuator has two identical cylinder and piston arrangements (19) directly on the outer sides of the vertical frame members (3, 4) of the fixed mast (2). The chain drives (14, 15) are also fixed on the outer sides of the fixed mast. The chains can be arranged in front and behind the cylinder and piston arrangements. The frame members of the fixed mast have outwards projecting flanges. The cylinder and piston arrangements are fitted within the angle between the flanges and web of frame members.
