Two wind driven impellers (201a, 201b) each drive a hydraulic pump (203a, 203b). Both pumps deliver liquid to a hydraulic motor (206) which drives an electrical generator (208). The volume admitted to the motor (206) is controlled by a regulator (265) which has an input from a manometer (264) in the liquid supply line (204c) and which also has a desired value input (266). A temperature detector (269) in the generator, a watt meter (264) in the output of the generator and a tachometer (238) on the generator provide signals to a safety regulator (268) between the main regulator (265) and the motor (206). The safety regulator puts the pump to zero output when the generator reaches maximum loading. Anemometers (274a, 274b) apply electric brakes (273a, 273b) to the impellers if the wind speed becomes excessive. |
