The crane has track for supporting crane trolley. This support is able to move in horizontal direction. The material and drive are utilised in optimum manner. The crane can cover the floor space of a building with any arbitrary plan arrangement. For this purpose the crane track projects on one side of the track only. The trolley carrier beam (1) is provided at its one end with a rotating seat (4). This runs on the crane rails (3). Its opposite end can be rotated about a vertical axis and the arrangement can move along the trolley beam (1). The suspension arrangement is situated above the mid point of the area covered by the crane. The rotating seat (4) has running rollers. One of these rollers is connected to an electric motor by means of which the rotating seat is moved along the crane rail (3).
