The cooling arrangement consists of a fan (5) which pushes cooling air via main pipe (9) over guide plates (10) against an oil sump of a combustion engine. A branch pipe (8) from the main air pipe leads cooling air to a housing containing the control electronics for the unit. This arrangement ensures that the operating conditions of the electronic equipment approximates the environmental conditions of the motor-generator unit. The guide plates which guide the air over the oil sump are in the form of guide vanes directing the air flow without impeding it and at the same time damp the noise from the unit.
