Acoustic signal transmission curve equalisation process - uses correction at key frequencies with interpolation producing polygonal correction curve

The apparatus is used for correction of attenuation curves with correction of resonance errors in both amplitude and frequency. The attenuation curve (1) to be corrected may have one or more sharp resonance peaks. In the correction of resonance errors in the attenuation curve use is made only of the degree of attenuation at discrete frequencies in the transmission band and correction is made in both amplitude and frequency. A polygonal response curve may be produced. The discrete frequencies used in choosing correction values may lie between filter transmission channels. The system reduces the number of discrete frequencies needed.
