The press equipment to extract water from a fibre suspension, in paper making, uses a mesh cylinder. The inner cylinder has a closed mantle and the fibre suspension is fed into the gap between the outer mesh cylinder and the outer cylinder. The water is removed from the fibre suspension through the mesh of the outer mesh cylinder so that the mantle of the inner cylinder can be stable and not of a mesh construction, to resist damage when the outer cylinder presses against the mesh surface of the outer mesh cylinder through the passage of the fibre blanket.
