<p>The pushpull diode amplifier consists of two step recovery diodes (SSD1) in parallel between ground and the output (A) of the amplifier. The two diodes are supplied with oppositely-phased sine-waves (UP) which add to and subtract from the input signal (US) applied to the output via a diode. Scatter in diode parameters can be compensated by a suitable choice of bias voltage and pump voltage amplitudes. The load (RL) may be a laser diode. PCM data may be transmitted at a high bit rate and high amplitude.</p> |
