The knife has a peripheral blade. The curvature of the blade, however, is not constant but is variable as in a conventional scalpel having a movable blade. This is achieved in that the blade is formed from an endless saw chain (3) which runs all round in scalpel shape, the saw teeth lying in the cutting plane (2). The chain (3) is guided over bearings designed, for example, as wheels. When the wheels are pivoted, for example actuated by pushing a button, on pivoting arms (13), the chain (3) moves inwards except for the tip region, so that only the saw teeth in the tip region can operate actively. This is achieved in that the chain (3) runs between cheeks (2) and can be moved beyond these cheeks into the working position or behind the cheeks back into the non-working position. <IMAGE> |
