PURPOSE:To facilitate production and to allow ordinary temp. operation by providing a reference electrode and detecting electrode, exposing the detecting electrode and sealing the circumference. CONSTITUTION:A 1st solid electrolyte layer 2 is formed by compression-molding the powder of stannous lead fluoride in the form of a layer onto the surface of a 2nd solid electrolyte layer 1 which is formed by compressing the powder of silver iodotungstate. These two layers are integrated by compression and are constituted as a base plate. The detecting electrode 3 provided on the stannous lead fluoride side of the base plate is constituted by forming the powder of a material which allows the permeation of oxygen and has an electrical conductivity, for example, platinum black, to a paste state, and applying this paste or compression-molding the paste to the layer shape. A leader wire 4 is connected to the end thereof. The reference electrode 5 provided on the silver iodotungstate side of the base plate is constituted by forming the powder of metal silver into a paste state and applying this paste or compression-molding the powder. A silver wire 6 is connected thereto. Such reference electrode 5 and layers 1, 2 are sealed into an electrically insulating container 7 in such a manner as to expose only the surfaces thereof and are thereby shut off from the outdoor air. |
