Castors with high load-to-volume ratio and low starting inertia - comprising an annular wheel supported by arcuate rolling bearings

A wheel or castor comprises a rigid annular hoop of stiff cross-section supported radially internally and externally for part of its circumference between two or more static arcuate sets of rolling bearings. Arrangement is esp. for castors or bearings requiring a high load capacity for limited wheel size. The internal characteristics make it easier to set a heavy load moving from rest than use of conventional wheels with the supporting pivot coincident with the axis of the wheel.
