<p>The dredging barge is supported on the river bed by extending vertical struts guided in special sleeves on the deck. In the raised position the sleeves are pivoted, with servo rams to drop the struts flat on the deck for simple transport. The system allows the barge to negotiate bridges etc. as well as to travel in a stable position. The vertical movement of the struts is by a servo powered cable drive.</p> |
