Cartridge for drying still mobile or droplet forming slurries uses a drum with a filter cloth liner. The housing for the drum is divided into a filtrate outlet chamber and a solids outlet chamber, each with outlets for the specific fractions. The drum is lined with a flexible filter bag. The open edge of this is fixed around the open mouth of the drum. In the base it is fixed to an adjustable device which can move up the drum axis and pull the bag into the upper part of the housing thus inverting it and discharging the cake. The bag is mounted on a rotating bearing at the base. Used for drying out filtered material so that can be transported as friable, particulate material. The system described requires only few mechanical parts and can operate fully automatically.
