<p>The car seat is mounted on a scissors linkage and is braced by a spring damper. The tension in the spring is adjustable to suit the different weights of the occupants, the adjustment being automatic. The adjustment device has a spiral servo (3) and is operated when the seat deflection exceeds a set amount. To reduce the tension in the spring, the occupant raises himself slightly so that the seat rises higher than the set level and the servo resets to a lower level. The adjustment does not require any manual controls and does not detract from driving concentration.</p> |
