It consists in suspending in saline water containing 9 g/l of sodium chloride, or in a gallery broth, a colony, or fraction of colony, of bacteria to be studied, and in then distributing a drop of about 50 mu l of this suspension in 100 mu l of identification broth previously distributed in the wells of a microtitre plate. Then anaerobic conditions are created by addition of vaseline oil, or conditions for aeration using an adhesive paper perforated with a hole 1 mm in diameter, and the microplate thus inoculated is incubated at 35 DEG C for a period of 3 to 18 h, before reading the results. The invention also relates to a culture medium for implementing this process.
