A method if intensifying transfer reactions in the channel or physical treatment of media is characterised in that the media are brought into contact by a rotatable shaft provided with wire-like elements which are caused to vibrate by the shaft movements. The thickness of the wire-like elements is 10-5000 mu m and the thickness to length ratio is 1:5-5000,Used in mfr. of dispersions, suspensions, emulsions, foams; atomisation, extractions, absorption of gas in soln., coagulation, homogenisation and mass and heat transfer in heterogenic chemical reactions. Provides increased turbulence.
