<p>A bar screen for sewage plants pushes the screened material in a descending flow into a basket. In case of a blockage, the rising water level actuates a backflushing system which clears the screen. The basket can be lifted out of the pit when it is full, after the bar screen has been tipped over. This system is suitable for small and medium sewage treatment plants where the unhygienic manual or semiautomatic cleaning process of bar screens is still common practice.</p> |
