<p>A pad for the application of a fluid or paste to a surface, e.g. on a printing stamp or to disinfect the skin prior to a surgical operation, is self-contained and encloses a capsule with the substance to be applied. The capsule is normally tight and is opened by compression of the tampon prior to use. This saves having to use pincers to dip the pad into the fluid and is a simpler and quicker way of application. It eliminates the fluid losses by dripping on the way from the container to the surface of application.</p> |
